Ovulation
So apparently I’m ovulating. Like, right now. Just laying in bed chatting and stuff and ow! A few minutes later, ow again. Left ovary. When they said you could feel it more after giving birth, they weren’t kidding. Other than my clomid/IVF cycles – where I had a ton of stuff going on in my ovaries – normally I could sometimes feel something that, maybe, possibly, might be ovulation. But this is like someone taking my ovary and thwacking it with their thumb and forefinger. Multiple times. Last cycle I was at the grocery store when it happened, and I hunched over the bar of my cart for a few moments. And then grinned because HELLO EGG!! So exciting. (Don’t worry, the excitement wears off quickly.)

You know what else is different? Cravings. As in, I have HUGE CRAVINGS now. Way worse than when I was pregnant. I’m telling people it’s because my body shunned chocolate for almost my entire pregnancy… now it’s trying to make up for it. I’m trying to lose weight, so this is really not great timing on my body’s part. And it has to be sweets, too.

I have some photos to share.
This is my belly 3 months after giving birth. (Well, 15 weeks to be exact.) I walked away looking pretty damn good, in my opinion. No stretch marks on the belly. No real wrinkling or anything going on… just a little doughy. You can still see my linea nigra lightly running from my belly button down.

Alas, the side view is not so impressive. Actually, looking at my photos, it doesn’t look all that different from the pics I took at 4 weeks post-partum. But I’m working on it.

And lastly, to close out the post, some photos of me and my cats… because, well, they were there when I was taking photos. And apparently they were not impressed at all by my decision to scoop them up.

Merlin’s face in that last one just cracks me up.

That is a cute pic of Merlin. :)
Hun, considering you were denied the massive calorie burning of breastfeeding, you are doing amazing!
love the photos, especially the last one!
I still can’t get over how you shunned chocolate — I don’t know what I will do if that happens to me one day. Chocolate is my life!
I love love love that last picture but you know that! ;)
You look great! I love your cats-the pics are too cute
Cute cats!!
I don’t know whether it’s the giving birth, or just becoming more aware through reading “Taking Charge of Your Fertility” & fertility treatments, but I can often tell when I’m ovulating too.
Congrats on ovulation. I think you look WONDERFUL! And oh my goodness I want to steal your kitties, they are simply delicious.
I think you look fine. And your courage in posting the pictures! I have horrible stretch marks. . .
And the cats look thrilled. I’m used to those cat expressions.
Ovulation pain sucks! I had this before I was ever pregnant but it was MUCH worse after.
You look FABULOUS. You are doing great and your belly is gorgeous. I got all kinds of stretch marks and will NEVER be taking a bare belly shot like that again. :-)
you look very very pretty! love the kitties…..awwwwwww!
You are so cute, Natalie. Love the cats too. Merlin looks like he has lots of personality!
Merlin is saying in a monotone voice, “Help me.”
LOL
Your belly looks great, by the way…
You look great. And needless to say, the cats are gorgeous!
