Relaxing Doesn't Make Babies

High Temps

Jan 1, 2006 — 11:29 pm

Well today’s temp was way up. And it made FF give me dotted lines. Gar. I don’t think I O’d yet – it’s too early, and I don’t think the last few temps are reliable: I was drinking new years eve (which affects your temp), and I just haven’t been good at taking them as SOON as I wake up. I keep forgetting until I’ve laid there petting Zoe for a few minutes. So I think they’re artificially high. I’m hoping tomorrow’s temp will be back down where it should be. Then again, if it isn’t and I really DID O three days ago, we still have a chance – but not a great one.

Creamy CM

Dec 31, 2005 — 3:47 am

Today my CM was most definitely Creamy. It’s a relief to be able to say, “Ooohhh, so that’s what it looks like!” Last cycle I was groping in the dark. Just getting off the pill, it’s not surprizing that my CM is all messed up. The last time I remember getting “normal” CM (not that I knew what it was, then) was back when I was a teenager. That’s quite a while.

Considering you tend to need some fertile-quality CM in order to get pregnant, I guess it’s not too surprizing that I didn’t get a positive last cycle. Poor spermies. All killed by my ruthless, deathly boobytrap. ;)

Silly Pride

Dec 31, 2005 — 1:07 am

I feel exceedingly pleased with my body that it regulated itself so quickly after the pill. After all those warnings from other ladies. It’s a silly thing to feel so smug about, but I feel like my body did a good job.

I’ll be starting OPKs today. Wheee. Something to make me feel useful.

Salt

Dec 28, 2005 — 3:54 am

Today I crave salt. So much, in fact, that I was actually wishing there was more salt on my McD’s fries. Normally I’m shaking and brushing all the salt off of them, so this fact was weird.

New Read; Temping Again

Dec 27, 2005 — 3:06 am

For Christmas Den got me Taking Charge of Your Fertility (link in menu to the right) and the What To Expect When You’re Expecting Pregnancy Journal. Both are awesome! TCOYF is really great, I think I’m going to buy a copy for Leanne when she’s 18. It’s stuff that girls really need to be taught, and aren’t… all of the charting and what’s normal for your body and what’s not. In-depth. Both for planning pregnancy and avoiding it. Good stuff. The journal has much more in it than any of the others I’ve seen, which is excellent. I told Den now he just has to get me pregnant so I can use it. ;)

I’ve been slack in the whole TTC thing lately. I’m just in the waiting phase, and I ovulate late in my cycle. So I just started taking my temps again after my period. I think I’ve lost some of that obsessive drive I had before, which is probably a good thing. I’m sure it’ll all come back when I get a positive, but now I can focus on other hobbies. LOL

Back To Normal

Dec 21, 2005 — 7:08 pm

I am very thankful that now that I’m off the pill I get my old cycle back. A lot of people go on the pill to “fix” problems with their cycles… truth be told I always appreciated having a longer cycle and lighter period! 4 days and I’m done. Granted the longer cycle is a bit of a pain now that we’re TTC, but it’s nice to know that my body is back to “normal” – as normal as it was.

Posting this here: It’s Just Another Baby. A great read.

No Chocolate? No Way

Dec 19, 2005 — 5:31 pm

I’m saying this right now, putting it out there: there is no way I am giving up chocolate while pregnant. I can very easily avoid dark chocolate (it has way more caffeine in it than milk chocolate), but I just really can’t give up chocolate altogether.

Sandwich

Dec 19, 2005 — 1:52 am

Ham! I can eat ham! I just realized this. :D This excites me way more than it should. But I am currently enjoying a ham sandwich very much.

Cramps

Dec 18, 2005 — 7:27 pm

Blah

Dec 18, 2005 — 4:05 am

My stomach was gurgling viciously all day, I got the hiccups on two or three different occasions, and now I keep burping. o.O And my lower abdomen is already feeling tighter and bloated. Bleh. I hate my period.
