Relaxing Doesn't Make Babies

Milestones… of a sort

August 9, 2007 — 3:48 am

And then tonight I puked.

The thing is, it wasn’t from nausea. Or at least, not what I equate to be nausea. It was from pain… gas pain, to be exact.

I’ve been laying in bed since just after 1am. It is now after 3:30am. I have not slept. I have been laying here, rolling from side to side, holding my stomach… unable to sleep because my stomach hurts. Indigestion, I thought at first. (And maybe that’s what I’d classify it as anyways?) It’s right up under my rib cage, feels like a painful ball sitting there.

I got up to pee and just started burping like a sailor. It kind of helped. Obviously, that “ball” is gas, just sitting there, making my life miserable. I leaned over the sink and just tried to burp it out.

Yeah, well, of course one too many of those triggered my gag reflex, which caused me to upchuck. Fun stuff.

And the pain isn’t even gone. :( I can’t find my tums, I’m sipping slowly on water, I can’t sleep (and I need to be up in the morning – joy). It’s not as bad as some gas-related pains I’ve had in the past (oh yes, I’m well aquainted with these stomach aches), but it’s in a weird spot and it hurts!

Going to go attempt sleeping on an incline… see if that helps. :sigh:

When I have that problem I take a short walk…. I know its not what you want to be doing at 1 am but it usually gets rid of the bubble and makes it easier to go to sleep!

That doesn’t sound like fun! I’ve had some painful gas at night, but never (yet?) enough to trigger puking. I hope this was a one-time event for you!
