Relaxing Doesn't Make Babies

Men in Pain

June 17, 2007 — 11:28 am

I don’t know what to do about Den. He’s been having one tooth causing him problems for a few weeks now and has been refusing to go to the dentist. He goes for his yearly checkup and cleaning – usually that one appointment leads to several other expensive ones because he has bad teeth – so he’s claiming we can’t afford for him to go again. (Whatever. We have emergency funds, it’s not like we’re broke.)

So yesterday it was really bad pain, he’s been taking advil like crazy… and apparently while I was gone this morning he was up at 5am because of his tooth. Just now he was walking around… it’s obvious he is in an extreme amount of pain right now. And he’s still refusing to make an appointment with the dentist!!

I am going to kick his ASS soon! He can’t just live with this. I think tomorrow I am going to have to make an appointment for him to go see a dentist, this is crazy. Why do men do this??

Totally NOT related to anything dental. But about babesinblogland. (Oh, I could hug you for stepping up and not letting that resource die out) When I read Shana’s news y’day about having found someone to take over, I tried to leave a “Thank God, bless her heart” comment, and it didnt take.

Seeing now that its you, OYE…Im glad it didnt publish! So, “Thanks for being who you are. Wishing you well for your next cycle”

Jimmy does the same thing. He’s convinced that doctors are just looking for excuses to order expensive treatments, because that’s what happens every time he goes in. He doesn’t realize that it happens BECAUSE he waits until he’s really in pain or something’s really wrong before he goes in.

Is he scared of the dentist? I had a friend with TERRIBLE teeth who went to one of those “gentle dentists”. But yeah, would he let you be in that agony? I think not. Make a deal with him or something…
