From hopeful TTC, through infertility, IVF and the resulting pregnancy, this became a journal through grief and trying again after the loss of our first son, Devin, at 36 weeks. After multiple more IVF cycles we got pregnant with our second child, a little girl born healthy and alive in May of 2010. Our third child, a most unexpected surprise baby girl, was just born in June 2012!

A few comments, just from my experience, feel free to disregard them all. A changing table is highly overrated – the playard/pack-n-play will work beautifully for that, as will the crib before the mattress is dropped, and you can get portable changing pads for anywhere changes. You could also turn that into a chest of drawers; there are many out there the right height that you can put a changing pad on. I would also say that, with your huge bedroom, the pack-n-play will make an excellent bassinet for you, no need to buy one separately. The highchair can wait, you won’t need that for the first 4-6 months. Ditto nthe carrier, if you get a sling, unless Den would use one but not the other.
And that Ameriwood crib is SO nice!! I love it, drooled over it quite a few times.
For the changing table… I’m thinking the way you are. :D I think we’ll just get a chest of drawers, use that.
The reason for the bassinet is that I want the pnp in the living room (or wherever my office is at that point)…. our bedroom is large, but we have two very large crates in there, and we’re getting a king size bed. So it might work, and it’s an option – but if I can find some kind of bassinet for the bedroom for less than $50 I’ll do that. We can’t do a co-sleeper unless it’s seperate from the bed due to the dogs – plus they’re over $100. O.O
I know the highchair can wait – but I want it to match. :P Heheheheh, I’m a freak.
The carrier’s for Den… sling for me. I think he’d take one look at a sling and give me the “what the fuck?!” look. LOL! I won’t be getting an expensive one for him. :P
*lol*! I had a feeling it was because Den wouldn’t do the sling … but hey, had to ask. Sometimes I admit I wish I had a sling, but it’s one of those things where I just can’t bring myself to have two things that serve the same purpose, especially when a sling would only last a few months.
Haha I just sent him a link to a sling and said, “What do you think about this?” His reply was, “What do you THINK.” LOL!
I think some slings can last longer. Depending. But they’re pretty cheap… low as $20-$30 at Walmart. :) I’ll see how it goes, lol.
