Relaxing Doesn't Make Babies

Well at least it went to voicemail

April 22, 2008 — 12:16 am

I left my phone off today because, well, it died and Den was home and I thought to myself, a day without phone interruptions, that’ll be nice. (Which is funny, because most days no one calls, but if we have a day off to spend together? Tons of phone interruptions.) Sure enough, 4 voicemails. Two from my mom, one from a client, and one….

“Hello Natalie! It’s ______ from ____ Reproductive! [Our RE] Just calling to check up on you and Denis. By this time you should have had the baby, can’t wait to hear the good news! You can call us or we’ll call you again later to catch up!”

Fuck.

Damn…they didn’t know *insert half ass question mark here…obviously they didn’t heh* For some reason I assumed they would all be in touch and some how know but I guess since you were probably pretty much done with them once the IVF proved successful huh?

Seriously though, it is hard enough having that happen, I am glad for you that it DID go to voicemail b/c I can only imagine how much more difficult it would have been to have to respond to that on the spot.

    *hugs*

You’d like to think there is more coordination in the medical system, but… :( My family dr didn’t know what had happened until he received a thank you note I’d written after the funeral, thanking him for referring me to the ob-gyn & saying regardless of the outcome, we’d received good care. He called me right away. I just assumed his office would get some sort of paperwork indicating what had happened, but they didn’t. I’m sorry you had to listen to that, but glad that in this case, they didn’t get you “live.”

JESUS, an RE did THIS??? That deserves a nastygram. I think if you want to reach out and touch your RE it’s up to you. Sadly, I never told me (in another state, anyway) and I can’t imagine the conversation. I’m so sorry, that’s terrible.

A week after Zak died the hospital physio called me to see how i was and ask why i left the hospital in such a hurry without finding out what i needed to do for my body. I told her Zak had died. She had no idea! And she worked at the hospital.
So no, people dont communicate between each other.

    Im so sorry.

    Hugs
