When TMI Strikes
So I think I’m one of the gassiest people on the planet right now. Okay, that may be a slight exaggeration. But it sure feels like it. I’m burping and farting like crazy, and I’m damn HAPPY to be, because when I don’t I get that crazy-aweful gas pain again, building up in my chest.
The bad news is that this gas thing may be what I’m dealing with for my first trimester.
The good news is that I still have no nausea, though I’m not counting myself out of the woods yet, by any means.
I really can’t believe I’m going to be 6 weeks along tomorrow! 6 weeks feels like a milestone to me, though I don’t know why. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s belly pic. :) Weekly rituals are nice. It reminds me to stop and celebrate.
This week I’ve been building my registry. Early? Of course. When am I not way early for something? So I’m having a lot of fun doing it, too, because this time it’s for real. Den even liked most of the stuff I picked out too! (I showed him soon as he got home, of course. I couldn’t wait even one day, hehe.) He nixxed that girl’s bedding I liked (“It’s so 60’s! It’s horrible!” ) and the highchair that straps onto a chair (“Doesn’t look sturdy enough.” )
And then, oh god, then he started talking about our future boy’s nursery. He got wicked excited and is planning an all Red Sox nursery. Red blanket with a big Red Sox logo; white sheets with little Red Sox logos all over it. I don’t know if he’s joking or not. I sure hope he is. (I know he would LOVE to do that, sure. I’m just not sure he’s going to insist on it. Because man, I want nice blue geomtric baby cuteness. Not sports! Ugh! I hate sports!) But it was pretty darn funny listening to him describe his perfect baby room.
I would type more, but I bought a new domain name that I’m just dying to set up. I need to first come up with a design I like, which so far isn’t happening.

I know exactly what you are dealing with. I had gas so bad that my husband called me Homer Simpson. Truthfully, I was much worse and much louder than Homer when it came to burping. Mine continued the entire pregnancy. You might want to tell your doctor about this because if you keep having heartburn/gas they can give you a script for something. I ended up taking Protonix. It was NOT cheap but it worked very well. You could probably take some OTC things also. My heartburn got so terrible at during the last trimester. The drugs were a lifesaver.
I got some Maalox for now, it’s on the “allowed” list of medications the Dr gave me.
I just bought the high chair I think you’re talking about and love it! My DR chairs are waaaay heavier than regular high chairs and the seat fastens very securely with 2 straps. Plus it adjusts up and down, the seat reclines for young babies just like a “big” high chair, and it converts to a booster. I think the hubby should reconsider this one. ;o) Max is 3.5 months old and it works great! (AND its small enough to take to grandma’s.)
And I LOVE the dinos!
