Relaxing Doesn't Make Babies

Crosshairs and Herbs

December 6, 2005 — 11:37 am

Today I got my red crosshairs on FF! Yay! That means the program thinks I ovulated too, backing up my assumption. :D

I shake my head at the people on the forum… a lot of them self-medicate way too much. They take all these kinds of “natural” remedies and extra vitamins and stuff…. soy and raspberry tea leaf and robitussin (not kidding)… all supposed to have some kind of effect on your menstrual cycle (like making a more friendly environment for sperm, or lengthening your luteal phase so you have a better chance of implantation). Just because they’re herbs and can be bought over the counter doesn’t mean it won’t have harmful effects to a baby or whatnot. I self-medicate with my meds, but that’s because a) I was already prescribed them b) I know what they do and c) I only adjust the dosage (usually down). I try to get myself to the lowest dosage I can without losing my stability. But that’s different than taking some pills picked up at a health food store. What scares me most is that most of these people see other people doing it and just go out and do it without even researching it. Yikes.

Well I still feel all bloated, I’ve been burping constantly. What’s with this? I’ve not been eating a lot. My stomach just feels weird. Too bad it’s too early to actually be a sign of pregnancy. ;)

I feel really quite strongly that this is our month. It’s like… I just felt the need to start NOW for some reason. And 2005 has been the year of pregnancies and babies. Maybe I’ll be disappointed. I don’t know. I’ll find out in about 9 days. :)

Heheh, yeah, but that’s TWO YEARS away. :P

Yes – be very careful what you take. Raspberry tea is NOT safe (nor is parsely!!) as they can cause miscarriages in the first trimester.

    *hugs*
