Week 9
I know I’m late, but hang in there with me. This one is from last week.
How far along? 9 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 129.4 (-2.0 week) (-0.8 total)
Maternity clothes? Yep, pants, same as before.
Stretch marks? Nada.
Sleep: Crappy. The getting up to pee I can handle, but it’s the nausea keeping me up all night that is making me wicked cranky.
Best moment this week: I don’t know, was there a best moment? The ultrasound, probably. Seeing that the bubs is growing.
Movement: Nope, unless you count the indigestion gurgles.
Food cravings/aversions: What am I eating this week… Grilled cheese. A tiny bit of milk. Yogurt. Fruits. Some candy (oops).
Belly Button in or out? In, but getting flattened and stretched already.
What I miss: Not having freak-outs and bleeding episodes.
What I am looking forward to: Feeling movement so I can stop freaking out.
Weekly Wisdom: Unless the bleeding continues and is accompanied by cramps, everything is probably okay. Probably.
Milestones: Fourth ultrasound. Yeah. Also, told Den’s family the news.
Symptoms: Nausea nausea nausea. Not a lot of throwing up anymore, just feeling miserable. Then there’s the calf cramps I got all week (had to stop wearing any heels at all), the massively bad constipation, breaking out on my forehead, dry straw-like hair…. maybe that’s it. For now.

Nat, Here in Germany many women take Magnesium in pregnancy for cramping and for leg cramps. I took this through out my pregnancy. I am from the USA, and but had my only birth here, so I am not sure if it is offered often in the US. It really helped me. My doctor is a Heilpraktiker meaning he is really into natural medicines. He is not med crazy, but conservative in that respect. He gave Magnesium to me the first time I saw him. If the cramps just get worse, it might be something you can research.
I’ll back Shannon up on magnesium – it’s not a miracle substance by any means, but having started to use it near-daily, it does a nice bit to help relieve and prevent cramps of various sorts. :)
Congrats on 10 weeks Nat! Did you know by the way that all of the major development for the baby is over at this point? Meaning now he/she just needs to grow bigger and stronger. This is also very significant in terms of miscarriage. Although the “first trimester” is the unofficial timeframe to be worried about miscarrriage, it is actually really before 10 weeks. After 10 weeks time, the risk plummets. Of course, you know all too well that it doesn’t go away entirely, but the 1st tri miscarriage risk is effectively behind you now- congrats!!! Huge milestone!
well I just found out on Saturday that my daughter, who is a college athlete, is pregnant. and due next week!!! we have crammed 9 months worth of stuff into 72 hours. we are raising him so she’ll finish school… but this made me think of you so I came to see how everthing was going with you!! glad all is well!
Yippee for 10 weeks!
