Another Crib
Ah ha!! Here’s another crib, from Walmart, along the same lines as the other one I liked. Delta Jasmine. $220. I believe I saw this one in Toys ‘R Us in the mall (it’s not on their website) and loved it. The one you pointed out Kel, the Storkcraft Rochester, it’s the one I keep seeing online and liking but it’s *not quite* what I want. It does have the drawer though which could be useful. I’d like to see that one in person. But at least we have options! :D
Also of note, here’s a nice little “portable crib” that would make an excellent bassinet: Delta Fold-a-Way Portable Crib. $92.

Aha! I think the Delta one is the one that we keep eyeing, I just didn’t have enough time to sit down and find it online this morning. The Storkcraft one, I agree, not -quite- it but still not bad. It really is amazing how many options there are out there, I’ll (of course) let you know which one we go with and how much we like it :)
Excellent. :) I think I still like the first one I posted though, personally. Out of stock, but right now that’s not a problem I’m concerned with. :P
hehe. Yeah, I like that first one too, but I’m also all about saving $50 with all the other stuff that’s going to need buying :p As you’ve noticed, it isn’t a cheap collection, and unlike you I can’t slowly start gathering as the budget allows – I’m kind of on a deadline! ;)
LOL Oh I’m not allowed to buy anything until I’m actually on a deadline. :P
Bah! I’m wishing we had had the time and warning to slowly ease into it. I think we’re both, right now, at the point of being so overwhelmed that it’s taking us off guard and making us delay even further. Which is bad, but god, even every time I look into the nursery and see the mess that needs organizing first…
LOL Oh I know that feeling. I don’t know how we’re going to get the office ready for a baby in time – especially since that requires setting up a new office in the currently unfinished basement. But we’re supposed to be doing that this spring/summer…
you are NEVER ready. LOL – even us – who moved into a new house and put NOTHING into the ‘nursery’ and had it painted beforehand – only to have me change the color now. LOL – poor Dan
*lol* Yeah, at least that there won’t be any color changes, since we haven’t touched anything yet! Thank god the old owners of the house painted all the walls white, that will make it a little easier too. Yet another reason I need to get the bloody room empty.
White walls eeewwww. I had way too much of white walls. I’d paint these right now if I could. But can’t. But I’ve picked out a nice blue color for the office/babies room…. it might change when we find out what we’re having, but I’m thinking of going blue either way. :) All the baby gear will be blue patterns, boy or girl, especially anything that will be used for our second child as well.
Nothing says the walls stay white, but it makes painting simple, no crazy colors to contend with nor wallpaper to strip. We’re figuring a pastel green for the baby’s room :)
Well true. I’d settle for sheetrock, of ANY color. :P Hehehe.
Pastel green huh? What color for the bedding and stuff? I’ve seen a lot of cute themes with blue and yellow, but have I ever mentioned how much I hate yellow?
Multicolor Pooh, with a few different light greens. We aren’t picking up all of them, but we did pick up a 4 piece crib set already, because we were worried they would go up to the same price as most sets are. (Five different places, average $100-$150 for a set, this one was $50!) BurlingtonCoatFactory.com, search for “Cute N Cuddly Pooh,” we bought the 4 piece bedding set. :)
$50! That’s a rockin price! I’d have bought that too. :) I’m now wondering if we’ll even bother buying a set, with the prices how they are. :/ I’d settle for just a bumper and blanket.
Actually, most of the sets are bumper, blanket/comforter, and crib sheet – plus a few have a headboard that counts as the fourth piece. I can’t say I saw any place that sold the bumper seperately. However, you might have someone in the family that can make them for you? I know one of John’s moms was offering until we found the $50 sets.
Oh I could sew, if I wanted to. Though I did read something about bumpers being dangerous to babies. Go figure.
Bumpers are dangerous, no bumpers are dangerous… Almost everything is a damned if you do and damned if you don’t situation these days, heh.
I totally agree. I have been hemming and hawing about the bumper thing too. Bah
