I’m checking out the hospital online and on the Birthing Services page they link to the OBs, the Midwives, and some other things like a virtual tour of the birthing suites and a “customizable birthing plan”. It’s a PDF, so I checked it out. It lists things that the hospital typically does, and has some checkboxes for options like “I would like an epidural” and “I would like to use the shower during labor,” etc. Note that this sheet is for the entire hospital, not<\/i> just the Midwife group.<\/p>\n
As I’m scrolling down, this is what one bullet says:
\n“If the baby is fine, s\/he will be placed on your chest immediately following delivery. The midwife\/doctor will wait until the unbilical cord stops pulsing before cutting it, unless the baby needs immediate assistance.”<\/p>\n
!! I didn’t even know any hospitals routinely waited for the cord to stop pulsing!<\/p>\n
Another one!<\/p>\n
“If you’re breastfeeding, your baby will receive no formula, sugar water or pacifiers unless ordered by the pediatrition and approved by you.”<\/p>\n
Oh and one more, just for fun, because my eyes aren’t big enough as it is… It states you have to give written consent<\/i> before a circumcision is performed.<\/p>\n
